October 11th, 12th, & 13th* Brought to you by the Abiquiú Arts Council 501(c)(3) A fall tradition for over 30 years, the Abiquiú Studio Tour is a self-guided, driving tour that takes visitors through the village of Abiquiu and the surrounding Chama River Valley to artist studios, galleries, businesses, and more. My life is not separate from my art, my life is art and has always been art. I am, for all intent and purposes, self-taught. I have an unshakable belief in La Unidad, Unity in all things. I believe we are all connected to everything and everyone. I see myself as a spiritual storyteller; the narrative-symbolic allows me to tell stories in which I am not the sole interpreter, the viewer is also an interpreter. My imagery is intentionally accessible and universal by way of archetypes that are open and flexible enough to allow for many interpretations, not one interpretation. My use of visual language, the symbolic, expresses my intent to engage the viewer in a dialogue. Through this unspoken dialogue an intimacy arises and the space to dream, imagine, contemplate--that, to me, is freedom. Djann Hoffman

The El Rito Studio Tour and Mercado return for a second spring Arts Festival in 2024. Expect over 13 El Rito artists on the Studio Tour. Also returning is our Mercado where artists and craftspeople display their work along with local live music and food. The Mercado takes place at the Northern New Mexico Community College - El Rito campus.
